Taqueria El Tapatio was established in 1989 as one of the first taco houses in Houston. Over the years, the clientele has grown, as well as the menu. The 28 years of success we have added many homemade plates from our Chile Relleno to Enchiladas, Fajita Mix and Parrillada.
One of the most popular items at Taqueria El Tapatio are the Famous Mexican Steaks served in a hot skillet plate that are prepared daily in homemade marination (El Tapatio, Chuleton, Costillas De Res, El Vaquero, Fajita Mix with Shrimp and our Parrillada with Shrimp).

★★★★★ El Tapatio has the best breakfast tacos I've ever had and that's saying a lot in Houston. There are many different fillings you can choose from, and my favorite is egg and bacon. You choose whether you want corn or flour tortillas, and their red salsa is so good that I want to drink it! It's also affordable -- $3.45 for two tacos is my kind of price! The service has always been good for me and the servers seem to appreciate when I speak Spanish with them. I also like the prepackaged baked goods made in Mexico -- the pineapple pie is amazing!
